La Dimora Dei Cavalieri, “The Residence of the Knights”….is an old, family farmhouse.

It stands on a spur overlooking the Tratturo that slowly comes to archaeological sites of Serra di Vaglio and Rossano. Once upon a time in this place, the Utiani knights and pilgrims would stop here on their way to the Temple of the Goddess Mefitis. They enjoyed the cool of the great oaks, quenched their thirst from the numerous and abundant springs,  and then resumed their journey. The places are intact. You can still hear the bleating of flocks, the roar of the herds, and the whistle of wind that almost seems to want to talk about a past that beckons you here!  Along the paths leading to the archaeological sites of Serra and Rossano, visitors past and present recall like a fresh memory the story of man, who (then, as now) troubled by daily events, follows the trail to a temple of  Peace!  This historic residence is in a niche of fascinating natural vistas where the colors are those of the various seasons: the green of the fields in flower, the blankets of yellow and the fragrance of hay, the sway of the harvest, the gradual pastel shades of plowed fields, and the silence of the woods bleached with snow. To the modern guest, as well as to travelers of long ago, the ancient farmhouse of La Dimora Dei Cavalieri offers a warm welcome, a pleasant stay, and an adequate rest in a unique environment, in addition to simple kitchen full of delicious, local produce.

The farm of Canio Ricciuti, located in farmland of Vaglio, in the Basilicata province of Italy, is a family run business and is characterized in time for the breeding of sheep and goat and the production of durum wheat. The company has experienced over the years a significant development in extensive production. In 1972 the company has been recognized at the regional level, with the awards for the best "white Lamb", the result of a cross between the sheep "gentle Luke" and French rams "Ile de France".  The white Lamb is served to the guests today at La Dimora, and has excellent organoleptic qualities. With the completion of the agriturismo La Dimora, the Ricciuti family incorporated the latest guidelines for national agricultural policy, community and regional levels in order to promote a development model based on multiplicity and complementariness, recognizing agriculture as a multifunctional role.  What has pushed the family toward this type of activity was the desire to diversify their farming activity. Therefore La Dimora's guests are encouraged to participate in those cultural activities in which the extrinsic farm system are still linked to, and which are still complemented by agricultural cultivation and breeding.
